Join us for an interactive, in-person session with our diverse panel of professionals bringing their experiences in different fields to discuss the importance of emotional intelligence and the role it plays in cultivating the leader within you.

Cara has 8 years of experience across external audit, O&G industry and consulting. She has been with Protiviti for 4 years leading projects in SOX Compliance, Internal Audit and Business Process Improvement. Additionally, Cara has been a leader and advocate for DEI throughout her career by leveraging her passion for cultural awareness to help foster an inclusive environment where all people feel a sense of belonging. Her hobbies include cooking, collecting vinyl records and home DIY projects.

Board Member, Ascend Houston
 

For two decades, Tam served corporate clients in negotiating state and local government tax incentive. In that role, Tam guided C-suite executives, senior leadership, PR firms, and lobbyists in developing negotiations and communications strategies. Last year, Tam left his role as a regional service line leader at Grant Thornton to pursue his passion in health coaching and community service while devoting more time to intentional living with his young kids.

Deputy CIO for Enterprise Applications and PMO, City of Houston

Summer Xiao is the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Enterprise Applications and Project Management Office at the City of Houston. Her teams provide value-add technology services for multiple city departments and strive to make a positive impact to city operations and city services through digital transformation.

Prior to joining the City of Houston, Summer was a solution delivery director for a business technology consulting firm. Her past experience also includes being responsible for the entire IT operations at an advertising company. Summer has years of business and IT experience working in various industries and developing efficient teams that deliver technology solutions which increase revenue, reduce cost, and maximize efficiency.

Summer Xiao graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a BBA in Management Information Systems.
